As a lender of consumer credit products, Affirm is subject to rules and regulations set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Merchant partners like you are offering Affirm’s regulated consumer credit products to consumers. Therefore, your financial promotions and disclosures regarding the availability of credit with Affirm are also subject to these regulations.

UK Affirm Compliance guide
The UK Merchant Partner Marketing Guidelines can help you understand your obligations with Affirm. As an introducer of Affirm’s regulated credit products, we require you to follow these guidelines to be in compliance with all applicable FCA financial promotions rules while our products are displayed on your website. Additionally, your messaging may require adding disclosure information. This guide describes when particular disclosures are needed, where they should go, and what they should say.
Some key points to keep in mind before moving forward with marketing Affirm to your customers:
- Your regulatory status: You should be aware if your company is classified as a Credit Broker, Appointed Representative, or Introducer Appointed Representative. As it relates to marketing Affirm to your customers, liability, and responsibilities may vary depending on the category of your company.
- Marketing Channel: While most Financial Promotions you market to your customers will include disclosures, make sure you are aware of the specific disclosures that are required based on the marketing channel of the promotion.
- Offers: If you are promoting an offer of any type related to Affirm’s products you must ensure that the material offer terms are added to the appropriate disclosure.

Customized marketing: Your ability to modify the provided marketing materials depends on your company’s regulatory status.

Credit Brokers: Affirm’s marketing templates can be used with the addition of your logo. Any proposed marketing template updates or custom marketing must be sent to Affirm for review and approval prior to deployment. Please submit requests through your Customer Success or Marketing Point of Contact.

For Appointed Representatives and Introducer Appointed Representatives: Affirm’s marketing templates must be used with only the addition of your logo, and no other changes. As financial promotions in the U.K. are regulated, any revisions to these assets must have prior written approval from Affirm. Appointed Representatives and Introducer Appointed Representatives are not authorised to do in-store/real-time promotions as Affirm merchant partners.
