The timeline for receiving a deposit from Affirm in your bank account after capturing a charge is like a credit card payment timeline. Affirm only sends payments to your bank account on business days when your settlement balance is positive.
Timelines
The process runs according to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). In the timeline below, we use Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) as an example of how the schedule converts to a different time zone.
You can view the different disbursement flows for settlement reports below:
One originator disbursement
One originator delayed disbursement
- At the beginning of the day, at 3:05 am UTC (8:05 pm PDT), we add all the previous day's charges (captures minus refunds) to get the settlement total.
- If your total settlement balance is positive, then at 5:30 am UTC (10:30 pm PDT), we mark the settlement payment for disbursement.
- At 9:30 pm UTC (2:30 pm PDT), we start a BACS transfer to your bank account for the settlement amount.
- The next day, by 03:45 am UTC (8:45 pm PDT), we create and send you the settlement report with all the charge actions (capture, refund, disputed, etc.).
- Within 1–3 business days of starting the BACS payment, your bank will receive the BACS transfer by 9:30 pm UTC (2:30 pm PDT) of that day.
Note: The settlement date in your Merchant Dashboard is when we started the direct debit transfer to your bank account. This date may not be the same as when you receive funds in your bank account.
Business days
We only send payments on business days, from Monday to Friday, except for the holidays noted below. All charges processed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are in the settlement payment sent on Monday. If Monday is a holiday, then charges processed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday are in the settlement payment sent on Tuesday.

Positive settlement balance
We send payment only if your total settlement balance is positive. If your previous day's charges totalled a net positive settlement, but your overall balance is negative due to many past refunds, a payment will not be sent.
